Originally built in the late 1920s, the Fox Theatre is a landmark venue located in the heart of a revitalized uptown Oakland. Reopened in 2009 to much fanfare after comprehensive renovation and restoration, the Fox impresses with opulent, decorative details and rich, colorful accents inspired by Indian, Moorish, Medieval and Baghdadian architecture.
Available for wedding and other special events, the Fox offers flexible configurations for parties ranging from two hundred to two thousand guests. Large celebrations can benefit from this venue’s extensive capacity and robust A/V capabilities, with a reception capacity of up to 1,700 guests (formal banquet capacity of up to 500 and theater capacity of up to 1,800).
Smaller wedding receptions of up to 200 can retreat to “The Den,” a two-story cocktail lounge that radiates beaux arts elegance, from the velvet couches and Moorish accents to the ornately painted ceilings.
A short drive or train ride from Berkeley or San Francisco, this venue also offers ample parking and is just a half-block from the BART.
