The Great Gatsby Alive and Well at Pier 48

We love the holiday season! Not only is it our busiest season of the year, but we get to design and cater stunning and uniquely themed holiday parties like this Great Gatsby event at Pier 48 produced by Hartmann Studios. The decorations were elegantly reminiscent of the roaring 20’s and the party was complete with stilted jugglers, acrobats, a fortune teller and lovely ladies walking around with sweet candy treats. We half expected to see Jay Gatsby himself walk into the Speakeasy for a drink and a game of pool.

Guests walked down the velvety purple carpet and were welcomed with outstretched hands from servers offering glasses of bubbly from the champagne “tower.” Once fully surrounded by the grandeur and décor of Gatsby’s world, guests savored the tastes from aptly named food stations like Daisy Buchanan’s Southern Comforts, Nick Carraway’s Long Island Deli, The East India Company and, of course, Jay Gatsby’s Asian Street Fair.

As the night wore on and guests were immersed playing Blackjack and Poker, servers passed around late night munchies of Chocolate Covered Bacon On A Stick and Mini Chicken Corn Dog Bites.

To add some sweetness to the festivities, an assortment of Parisian macaroons, holiday cupcakes, and Peppermint Bark and White Russian mini milkshakes were passed around among roars of laughter and good cheer.

We had an amazing time at this great event where, in the words of F. Scott Fitzgerald, “Men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars.”
