Dancing and eating the weekend away at Golden Gate Park….just another reason to love San Francisco. Global Gourmet caters the VIP Polo Lounge and cabanas each year at the Outside Lands Music Festival and we love keeping the music lovers in attendance full and happy for the entire weekend. We also get to see and hang out with old friends like Al Madrigal of the Daily Show, and his beautiful wife Krystyn, whose wedding happened to be one of the first Global Gourmet ever catered.
We featured some of our favorite festival-inspired creations to feed the hungry guests, such as Indian Piadini Wraps with either Chicken Korighassi or Vegetarian Chana Masala, topped with Cilantro and Tamarind Chutneys and delicately wrapped in fresh and fluffy Indian Flatbread.
Many people liked the sound of our Maui Dog but once they saw it they knew they had to try it. Nothing says ‘good times’ quite like an All Beef Hot Dog on a Bakery Fresh Bun with secret recipe Spicy Mustard Pineapple Relish and topped with crumbled Maui Onion Potato Chips.
The most interesting and visually intriguing dish we served was the Korean Pork Tostada. What could make Spicy Marinated Pork, Kimchi Slaw and Pickled Vegetables on a crispy Corn Tortilla even better? How about topping it off with a warm, Fried Egg and flavorful Gochujang Sauce? This was definitely a crowd pleaser.
We also served up a healthy Multi-Grain, Arugual and Feta Salad as well as Jefe’s Old School Tacos packed with either Beef Barbacoa or Soyrizo. Whenever there was a chill in the air, our servers were prepared with warm bowls of Chicken and Vegetable Ramen. Definitely a quick and tasty way to get nice and toasty.
Each day of the festival we featured a different Poutine and Parfait. Friday’s “Three Little Piggies” Poutine, with Sweet Potato Waffle Fries and BBQ Pulled Pork, was paired with a Chocolate and Butterscotch Parfait. Saturday served up “Shrimp and Grits” Poutine, with Grit Fries and Shrimp Etouffee, which was paired with a Lemon Polenta Parfait with Bacon and Strawberry Streusel. And Sunday featured Pickle Fries Poutine, with Pastrami Shavings, Pickled Russian Slaw and Swiss Béchamel, which was paired with a Strawberry and Passion Fruit Parfait.
The music was, of course, amazing and had us all dancing while serving up our specialty festival fare. We can’t wait to see you there next year!
