Global Gourmet was proud to host our annual Onsite Staff Appreciation Picnic at San Pablo Reservoir again this year! Over 250 of our onsite team – servers, bartenders, line cooks, sous chefs, managers, warehouse staff, and everyone in between – came to hang out, enjoy the great weather, and be celebrated for all the hard work they tirelessly put in on-site at every event.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be a GGC party without excellent food. Chef Dontaye prepared a delicious BBQ smorgasbord of treats, ranging from cucumber and peach salad to grilled ribs and fried chicken to a full seafood boil with gulf shrimp, crab, sausage, artichokes, mushrooms, red potatoes, and lots of cajun spice. All were served by Global Gourmet’s owners and senior managers and accompanied by bar service, complete with two signature summer cocktails; everyone felt like they were VIP guests at one of our events instead of the ones working it!
In between bites of food, attendees competed in challenges like Cornhole, Tug-of-War, and even the old college favorite, Flip Cup. Every thirty minutes, one of our salaried directors or managers took small groups on a boat for a leisurely cruise around the lake to soak up the sunshine and enjoy the views.
The day culminated in an extensive raffle prize giveaway, where dozens of lucky staff members won prizes ranging from swanky coolers to outdoor lounge chairs to brand-new TVs.
We also give special thanks to several of our partners who donated items like mugs, cool swag, and tickets to enjoy the venues our staff visit regularly for work but now can enjoy as guests with their families.
