We love seeing some of the couples we work with featured in wedding magazines, but it’s not often we get the pleasure of seeing the same couple featured in two industry-leading publications! Mia and Nima received a nod from Style Me Pretty and a full spread in the recent print edition of Modern Luxury Weddings, including the stunning sangeet we catered the night before their wedding.
Mia & Nima planned a packed wedding weekend that celebrated their unique Indian, Persian and American backgrounds. Beyond a rehearsal dinner, the sangeet, an evening of festivities traditional to the Indian wedding procession, was held at California Academy of Sciences. We created a custom menu inspired by savory Persian dishes to compliment the couple’s cross-cultural theme, including slow-braised and grilled small plates and tahchin–inspired rice balls. Traditional desserts like baklava and naan gerdoee (walnut cookies), crafted by our executive pastry chef Steven Cheung, were a highlight for our guests. Approximately 350 guests, many travelling into San Francisco, attended the couple’s stylish sangeet and wedding the next day.
It was a pleasure partnering with Shannon Leahy Events and an incredible vendor team to produce this incredible party. Raj Tents and Hensley Event Resources provided the colorful spread of pergola tents and lounge seating, with details from La Tavola Fine Linens, Got Light and Hunt Littlefield rounding out the bold and bright aesthetic. The event featured hired henna artists, happy hour in the aquarium, lots of dancing, and, of course, incredible food.
