What a year it has been for Marsala! From weddings to living rooms to food, this 2015 Color of the Year made its way into almost every aspect of life. With this year quickly coming to a close, we can only imagine what hot color we’ll see a lot of in 2016.
With the warmth and seduction that Marsala brought, Pantone is hinting that 2016’s color might inspire a more calm sensation. We loved seeing hints of sexy Marsala at weddings and in fashion and photo shoots, so next years’ color has a lot to live up to. Pantone is taking technology into account with its choice, stating, “The fact that technology has gotten so overwhelming, and so 24/7, has really created the need for these comforting, softer colors.” There is also the factor that people want to see more lush and vegetation-inspired hues. Botanical prints are popular at the moment and could impact Pantone’s choice as well.
We’re loving the names of the top 10 hues that are in the running to be next years’ “it” color:
- Rose Quartz
- Peach Echo
- Serenity
- Snorkel Blue
- Buttercup
- Limpet Shell
- Lilac Gray
