de Young Museum

One of the most-visited art museums in North America, the de Young has been a San Francisco cultural institution for over 100 years. The de Young not only showcases fascinating exhibitions of art, textiles and costumes, but the new museum structure – completed in 2005 – is a stunning architectural statement and work of art in and of itself, from the observation tower to the thoughtfully landscaped grounds. 

Located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, the de Young provides premier event spaces for groups as small as 25 or as large as 2,500.  

Interior Event Spaces:

Wilsey Court (8,273 sq. ft.) – The impressive court and lobby area is the de Young’s largest venue.

Hamon Tower Observation Floor (2,410 sq. ft.) – Featuring panoramic views of the Golden Gate Park and the San Francisco Bay.

de Young Café (2,411 sq. ft.) – Located on the main level of the museum, the Café features modern décor with hand-blown glass light fixtures.

Piazzoni Murals Room (2,261 sq. ft.) – Overlooks the Music Concourse and home to the Piazzoni murals, with a direct service corridor connection to the de Young Café kitchen.  

Koret Auditorium (269 seated capacity / 3,871 sq. ft.) – This stunning, state-of-the art theatre is ideal for special performances or formal corporate presentations. Please note that as no food or drink is allowed in the auditorium, we recommend also renting an adjacent venue for catering service.   

Outdoor Event Spaces:

Café Terrace – Located under an embossed copper canopy, the Café terrace overlooks the inviting Barbro Osher Sculpture Garden and may or may not be tented for events.

Barbro Osher Sculpture Garden (9,718 sq. ft.) – With graceful landscaping and sculptures by leading contemporary artists, the Sculpture Garden provides additional event space in conjunction with the Café terrace.
